What Condition is Your Fortress In?
This assessment contains 30 statements across the six pillars of Fortress of Integrity.
For each statement, choose the response that most accurately reflects your life as it is today. Don’t answer based on where you think you should be or where you hope to be.
There are no perfect results. This is simply a starting point for understanding the current condition of your fortress.
30 statements • 6 pillars • 5-part lens • Condition → Pattern → Priority
How to Answer
Choose a rating for each statement and record the number as you go. At the end of each pillar, add your five ratings together to see its current condition.
Rate each statement from 1 to 5 based on how accurately it describes your life today.
1 — Strongly Disagree
2 — Disagree
3 — Neither Agree nor Disagree
4 — Agree
5 — Strongly Agree
Keep track of each number as you go. At the end of each pillar, you’ll add your five responses together.
The Six Areas of Your Fortress
Your fortress is supported by six interconnected areas:
Financial • Relationships • Mental • Physical • Spiritual • Emotional
This assessment looks at each area individually while also helping you recognize patterns across your life as a whole.
You’ll move through each pillar using the same five-part lens:
Awareness → Maintenance → Resilience → Intentionality → Direction
The purpose isn’t to judge where you are. It’s to help you see clearly where your attention may have the greatest impact.

Take a moment before moving on.
What stands out?
You may have one pillar that is clearly under greater pressure than the others. You may also notice several areas clustered together.
Remember: the goal is not perfect balance.
Different seasons of life place different demands on different parts of the fortress.
Look One Layer Deeper
Your pillar scores tell you about the condition of different areas of your life.
The Five-Lens framework can help you recognize a pattern across those areas.
Each pillar used the same five lenses:
Awareness • Maintenance • Resilience • Intentionality • Direction
If you want to go deeper, add together your ratings for the same lens across all six pillars.
Awareness
Financial ___ + Relationships ___ + Mental ___ + Physical ___ + Spiritual ___ + Emotional ___
Awareness total: ___ / 30
Maintenance
Financial ___ + Relationships ___ + Mental ___ + Physical ___ + Spiritual ___ + Emotional ___
Maintenance total: ___ / 30
Resilience
Financial ___ + Relationships ___ + Mental ___ + Physical ___ + Spiritual ___ + Emotional ___
Resilience total: ___ / 30
Intentionality
Financial ___ + Relationships ___ + Mental ___ + Physical ___ + Spiritual ___ + Emotional ___
Intentionality total: ___ / 30
Direction
Financial ___ + Relationships ___ + Mental ___ + Physical ___ + Spiritual ___ + Emotional ___
Direction total: ___ / 30
Now compare the five totals.
You do not need to label them good or bad.
Instead, ask:
Which lens scored lowest?
Which lens scored highest?
Does that pattern appear in several different areas of your life?
For example, several pillars may score reasonably well overall while Maintenance consistently scores lower. That may suggest that your biggest opportunity is not knowing what needs to change—it may be consistently maintaining what already matters.
Condition → Pattern → Priority
You have now looked at your fortress from two directions.
Condition — What is the current state of each pillar?
Pattern — What tendencies appear across your whole fortress?
Now comes the most important part:
Priority.
Your System Priority
Looking only at your assessment results, which pillar appears to need the most attention?
We call this your System Priority. It is the starting point suggested by the pattern in your assessment results.
Your Chosen Priority
Now ask yourself:
Which area, if strengthened now, would have the greatest positive effect on the rest of my life?
This is your Chosen Priority.
Your System Priority and Chosen Priority may be the same. They do not have to be.
Your scores cannot know everything about your responsibilities, circumstances, season of life, values, or commitments. The assessment provides information. You still make the decision.
Choose One Place to Begin
“You have now done something important.”
You have taken an honest look at the current condition of your fortress.
You do not need to repair everything today.
Choose one intentional step that would begin strengthening your chosen priority.

Continue Building Your Fortress
The six pillars do not operate independently. Strengthening one area can often create positive effects in others.
Your next step is to learn how the six areas of your fortress work together and how intentional maintenance can help prevent temporary strain from becoming lasting deterioration.
The Fortress Assessment is a self-reflection and educational tool. It is not intended to diagnose medical, mental-health, financial, relationship, or other professional conditions.
